ABSTRACT

In the process of global education informatization, online education and teaching have become a reality, and the research and application of online teaching platforms have become a hot topic at present. In China, the use of online teaching platform in college teaching started early, especially under the promotion of COVID-19, the development of online teaching platform is rapidly popularized. This study aims to evaluate the utilization rate of online teaching platforms in Guizhou University of Finance and Economics, the satisfaction of college students with the use of online teaching platforms, their academic performance during the use of online teaching platforms, and the difficulties and challenges they encounter during their use. The data was obtained through questionnaire surveys and semi-structured interviews. The results indicate that the utilization rate of various online teaching platforms is high in the teaching process of Guizhou University of Finance and Economics, and students have a good satisfaction with the online teaching platform. Students have given positive evaluations on the impact of using online teaching platforms on the academic behavior of college students. In terms of difficulties and challenges, teachers and students at Guizhou University of Finance and Economics generally believe that there are significant issues in terms of technology, experience, interactivity, workload, and psychological adaptation. Considering these findings, this study proposes an action plan to enhance the utilization rate and student satisfaction of online teaching platforms at Guizhou University of Finance and Economics and universities in western China and improve students’ academic behavior.
