ABSTRACT

Project-based learning (PBL) has attracted much attention as a teaching method, which enhances practical ability, develops critical thinking and promotes deep understanding of knowledge by engaging students in real-world projects, especially in design education. Basic design course is the cornerstone of design education, but there are some problems in traditional teaching methods, such as lack of interaction and practical application. For example, the course of Hunan Arts and Crafts Vocational College has inconsistent content delivery and uneven the ability of teachers to integrate tools. The purpose of this study is to explore the impact of PBL integration into basic design courses on students’ skill level, evaluate the relevant learning outcomes and teaching strategies, and analyze the relationship between them.
