ABSTRACT

This study aims to evaluate the impact of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) on the learning of electronic technologies among students at Huainan Vocational College in Huainan City, Anhui Province, China. Furthermore, the study aims to identify specific issues and challenges encountered with the impact of MOOCs in electronic technologies. The study employed a mixed research approach. The descriptive method utilizing the quantitative approach was used to assess the extent of utilization of the MOOC in teaching Electronic Technology, the extent of learning engagement of the students on the MOOC in learning Electronic Technology, and the level of skills of the students in Electronic Technology. The study reveals that the utilization of MOOCs in teaching Electronic Technology significantly enhances both the learning engagement and skill levels of students. Participants a great extent of engagement and skill acquisition, indicating that MOOCs are an effective educational tool in this domain. The significant relationships between the extent of MOOC utilization and both learning engagement and skill levels underscore the important role these online platforms play in fostering educational outcomes. However, to fully leverage the benefits of MOOCs, it is essential to address the identified challenges—technical and access issues, learning environment and interaction, content and learning experience, and cultural and language barriers.
